We Wanted to Wish you all a Merry
Christmas and Happy New Year!
We had quite the eventful year with Grace and Scooty getting married in September, Hannah graduating from Boston College in May, and Kate graduating from high school in June!! In the spring, Kate and Anne drove up to see the total eclipse in northern New Hampshire. We also took a fabulous trip to Rome and Provence this summer, and many trips to the Azores throughout the year, including family trips in December and July when all the kids were able to come! In July, we also took a quick trip to Lisbon while we were in the Azores and that is such a beautiful city.
Grace and Scooty’s wedding was a lot of fun to help plan and the weekend was just wonderful! Grace did a great job with planning all of the many details for the weekend, and she had a nice bachelorette trip to New Orleans with some of her friends. We were so glad that many of you were able to come and celebrate with us! Grace and Scooty (and their dog Ruby) continue to live in Nashua, NH, about 20 minutes from our house, so it is nice that they are close by.
Hannah graduated from BC in May and moved into an apartment in South Boston with one of her college roommates. For her graduation weekend, we all spent the weekend in Boston, and enjoyed spending time with her friends and their families. She was instrumental in planning Gracie’s wedding shower, and made beautiful flower arrangements for the centerpieces. She is having a lot of fun living in Boston as many of her friends from Boston College are still in the area (and even some from high school). We are glad Hannah is close so she is able to come visit us!
Joe is 20 and a junior at Fordham University in the Bronx, where he is on the football team and majoring in Applied Accounting and Finance. He has made the dean’s list every semester so far! Brian, Anne and Kate were able to visit Joe at Fordham for the spring football game and Brian, Anne and Hannah visited for family weekend this fall. This past summer he was able to be home more than the year before which was really nice. He will have an internship locally this summer and we look forward to spending some great time with him!
Kate is 18 and started this fall at Georgetown University in DC! This was her top choice so she was very happy to get in! In the spring, for her high school senior project, she and her grandfather made a coffee table. She enjoyed spending a lot of time with Bubbett and learning some woodworking skills. This fall she has been enjoying exploring the Georgetown area and has joined some clubs at Georgetown, which is keeping her busy. She is in the business school but has not declared a major yet. We were able to visit Kate for her family weekend this fall and enjoyed having her give us a tour of campus and we ate at an Ethiopian restaurant which was so delicious and a lot of fun!
Anne continues to work for Spectrum and for InspectCheck, help out with Fueled by Kids, and she continues in the bell choir at church. Brian continues to be busy at Spectrum and enjoys farming whenever he can! This year we had 3 baby cows, baby pigs, 5 lambs, and we are expecting some baby goats in the next month and more cows. Our garden produced a bunch of produce this summer and we raised turkeys for Thanksgiving.
We loved having all the kids home at Thanksgiving, and look forward to having them home soon for Christmas!
We hope you enjoy a chance to see some of our pictures and we look forward to hearing from or seeing you this coming year.
